Blog Day 3

This past 2 weeks in science class, we have been making balloon repelled cars. I have failed many times with it. The balloon was the part that failed the most, but I did not give up and found a way to make it move without the ballon failing. Our cars were supposed to travel 10 feet to get 100% in that section of the grade. As I tested my car, it started to fail after traveling 10-15 feet during my 5 tests. My car started to fail and only fail. I worked on it day and night. When the day came to test it for a grade, my car went 8 out of the 10 feet. I got a 96% with my hard work. My wheels and axles kept bending and failing too. I tweaked with them and got them to work. My ballon got teared, so I got a new one and found out how it teared. The cardboard roll had torn the balloon on 2 edges. I got tape and taped the sharp edges. I then started to leak air. My cardboard tube has caved in on the top where the balloon is. I used tape and took off the balloon to fix it. I found out that the ballon was too tight on the tube. I knew now that the only way to fix it was to have it off until test day. I put the balloon on when it was my turn, and it went 8 feet. The next day, was a fun day. we raced to see how far our cars could go. I decided to go and the car got a leak. As other people went, I repaired. I put the balloon on and put 2 layers of tape on it. I also squeezed the tube to make it thinner. When I was ready, my car ended up going about 8 feet anyway. I still had fun making and testing my car. One thing that I learned was that the different ways that air resistance acted on my car. That is it for my failures of ballon car. That is also it of this weeks blog.

Blog Day 2

Another thing we have in Project Wonder is that we have an inspiration wall. On the wall, there are many sticky notes with inspiring quotes on them. Many quotes are from famous people. All of these quotes have something inspiring on them. Many different people found different things. One that I wrote was, “If you tried as hard as you could, and failed. Does it mean I wasted my time? Of course not!” I could not find who did it but it is my favorite quote. To me, it is very inspirational and will never get old.

That is it for my blog today.
